Bacone College crowned its first Miss Indian Bacone since 2019 at a pageant held on Nov. 22.
Three students competed for the honor: Janaya McIntosh Nahmi Koassechony Burgess and Tytiana Coleman. McIntosh was named Miss Indian Bacone by judges Joyce Deere, Muscogee (Creek) Nation Councilwoman, Jana Taylor, and Nathalie Standingcloud.
“Thank you to a wonderful, dedicated staff and community, These young ladies are all stunningly beautiful, inside and out. Their families are from incredible traditions and cultures,” said interim President Dr. Nicky Michael. “We had a full house and the pageant helped shine the light on “why” we teach, but even more, the “who” we are of resiliency. Wanishi, Wado, Mvto, and Yakoke.”
