General Statement of Duties: Bacone College is seeking a qualified, highly motivated person to join our athletic program as Head Women’s Soccer Coach. The successful candidate must have knowledge of both the required technical and tactical skills and the ability to communicate well with team players.
Responsibilities include managing all aspects of a competitive team including: recruiting; planning; organizing and conducting team practices; traveling and supervising the team at away contests and coordinating home events. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the academic and athletic success of the student-athlete and to the highest of ethical standards.
Supervision Received: Reports directly to the Athletic Director.
Supervision Provided: Assist in supervising work-study students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Responsible for the identification, evaluation and recruitment of student athletes.
-Application and exemplification of Christian leadership. Provide leadership in activities, which
will enhance the spiritual growth of the student athletes. (Bible studies, team prayer, and
devotion.)
-Supervision, scheduling, and organization of all practices and workouts.
-Budget manager for the Soccer program which includes food, travel, uniforms, post season
travel, entry fees, awards, and equipment.
-Supervision of all athletes at all scheduled contests.
-Report the results of all contests to the media.
-Monitor academic progress of athletes.
-Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
-Knowledge in academic, social and personal needs of students with varied cultural backgrounds.
-Good communication skills, written and oral.
-Proficient computer skills including Excel, Word.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree required. Successful coaching experience at the
collegiate or high school level is preferred. This position requires a standard background check.
