General Statement of Duties: Counsel students and parents on financial aid issues. Provide students with estimates of financial aid awards in accordance with federal and school policies. This position is responsible for coordination of the Federal Work-Study program. Additional duties will include working with current and prior students to resolve and collect on outstanding account balances.

 Supervision Received: Reports directly to the Director of Financial Aid

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Counsel students and parents on financial aid options.

  • Responsible for awarding a portion of the student body.

  • Loan processing, conduct entrance / exit interviews.

  • Completes all verification activities for assigned student files.

  • Assist students with financial aid forms.

  • Complete Financial Needs Analysis for tribal funding.

  • Enter FAFSA’s and other data entry.

  • Import/Export and Print ISIR’s

  • Assist in financial aid workshops.

  • Copy and mail loan applications to lenders.

  • Oversee and coordinate FWS process.

  • Responsible for work-study program: contracts, W-4, I-9, and timesheet report.

  • Responsible for job postings and forwarding applications to work-study supervisors.

  • Maintain and monitor federal work-study funds.

  • Assist in organizing meeting with work-study supervisors.

  • Arrange outstanding balance payment plans and collect on old student account debt.

  • Any other job related duties as assigned.

 

Skills and Abilities:

Must be sensitive to both parent and student needs, and possess the ability to demonstrate good interpersonal communication skills. Must be computer literate and show willingness to take classes to improve or acquire skills.

 

Education and/or Experience:

Associate Degree or equivalent experience in related field.
