Strengths
- The
faculty and administrative staff are committed to the heritage, history,
mission and values of the Collage.
- The
College appears to have assembled a competent, energetic, and dedicated
administrative staff committed to the developing the strategies and
tactics to move the college forward.
However, it must be noted that the key members of the staff have
only recently joined Bacone and a true evaluation of their effectiveness
is not measurable at this time.
- The
College is developing an open communication system that integrates a
variety of campus and community constituencies into the decision making
process.
- The
College continues to recruit and enroll a diverse student population.
- The
College has many support programs designed to facilitate student access.
Challenges
- Although
the College has developed retention strategies, work still needs to be
done to increase the percentage of students moving from their first to
second year.
- Although
some initial planning has occurred, the College must rapidly increase
annual fund contributions and implement the next major capital campaign.
- The
College must improve accounting record keeping and internal control
systems to ensure that financial statements are fairly stated and have
predictive value.
- The
College must develop a strategic planning process to identify academic priorities
and the resources required to implement and sustain quality four-year
programs.
- In
conjunction with the next comprehensive evaluation, the College needs to
develop assessment plans for its degree programs and general education.
