Sports Management deals with the business aspects of sports. Some examples of sports managers include front office personnel in professional or college sports, sports marketing, event and facility management, sports economics and finance and sports information.
The Bachelor of Science in Sport Management program equips students with the tools to apply the fundamental concepts of management, marketing, finance, law and information systems to sports organizations.
Students pursue careers in a variety of organizations, from professional sport franchise and intercollegiate athletic departments to sports media companies and sport organizing committees. Within these organizations, students get involved in a range of job functions such as facility and event management, marketing, administration, compliance, ticket operations, sponsorship sales, fundraising and player representation.
