I see the potential for success in all Bacone College students and enjoy helping Bacone students adapt to college life while developing their academic skills. I feel strongly that every Bacone College student deserves quality academic support and personal encouragement. The Bacone Bridge Scholar Program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop as Bacone scholars while building friendships as members of a friendly, supportive, and active first semester cohort. My goal as the Director of Bridge Programs is to welcome pre-college students and provide the academic support and campus involvement experiences that will prepare students for academic excellence and lifelong learning.
My Doctor of Education degree in is Higher Education and Adult Learning with a specialty in precollege and bridge programs. In addition, I hold a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction, two Bachelor of Education degrees, and professional educator certificates. Throughout my career, I have enjoyed teaching students from a variety of cultures and backgrounds and have worked in both urban and rural areas. Promoting positive social change through education and writing are important to me. I strive to facilitate equity, inclusion, academic excellence, and culturally responsive education.
