Bridge Scholar Program

The Bacone College Bridge Scholar Program provides students with the opportunity to build friendships while developing as Bacone scholars. The program develops each student's scholarly academic skills while promoting inclusion, involvement, and engagement within a friendly, supportive cohort and the Bacone College campus community.

The Bridge Program gently introduces underprepared students the academic rigors of college and provides a bridge/transition and adjustment semester to college life. The Bridge Scholar program offers the solid academic foundation needed for college success as well as personal encouragement, caring, and guidance. The Bridge Scholar Program requires full time enrollment at Bacone College, active inclusion in a Bridge Seminar cohort, leadership development, participation in a service learning project, and attendance at numerous campus engagement events.

Successful Bacone College Bridge scholars are encouraged to test forward in Reading, Math, and Writing upon completion of their Bridge program requirements. The Bridge Scholar Program has a 90% student success rate. In addition, 55% of bridge scholars have tested forward/tested out of one or more future courses upon completion of the Bridge semester.
