Support Bacone
Why Support Bacone? As a private institution, Bacone College has longed recognized the need to raise funds to maintain a strong financial position and to be able to provide a quality education in the fulfillment of its Mission Statement. The purpose of development or institutional advancement is to build relationships with those who are willing to lend their emotional and financial support to the college. Bacone is supported by a multitude of churches, civic groups and individuals who are committed to help the school accomplish both annual and long-term goals for success. The Development Office is responsible for providing both expertise and
practical energy in raising funds for operating and capital expenses that
are not covered through tuition income. The Development Office welcomes the involvement and support of Bacone's alumni, parents, churches and other friends of the college. For information or assistance please contact the office at (918) 683-4581 ext. 7221. FAX (918) 781-7217 Why Does Bacone Seek Private Support?Bacone College is over 120 years old and has never accepted any direct funds from the state or federal government. Bacone's students are eligible for grants and loans and some of the Native American students qualify for tribal loans. Bacone is a financially sound institution and is a very good place to invest in the future of Native American students and others to help insure the future of our world. Tuition fees generate revenue for the College. However, the money from tuition and fees does not cover the entire cost of operating the College. Gift income helps to keep the cost of tuition affordable as well as to fund the cost of improvements to facilities, increase course offerings and improve programs, and provide scholarship dollars for needy students. Support from alumni, parents, churches and other friends makes possible the academic extras which allow Bacone College to maximize the educational experience of each student, facilitate academic initiatives, foster research and underwrite program and technology initiatives. Bacone College is one of the fastest growing liberal arts colleges in the U.S. today. Expansion is happening in nearly every aspect of the school and an ever-increasing number of people are recognizing the potential that a college like Bacone can have in educating a diverse population and prepare the leaders of tomorrow. The Development Office of Bacone College remains committed to these goals and welcomes the partnership of the College's many constituents in achieving them.
