Come and Visit

Walk-in visitors are always welcome, but we recommend scheduling ahead!

This will help ensure that we have enough tour guides to accommodate our visitors. Visits begin at the Welcome Center and we give tours all throughout the year. A campus visit typically consists of a 45-minute information session, led by an admissions representative, followed by an hour-long, student-led tour.

Share in the Bacone History

For 140 years, Bacone College has served as more than another building of higher education. Founded as Indian University in 1880, the school began classes in “Indian Territory” well before Oklahoma was a state

As missionaries traveled throughout the West, one missionary teacher first gathered three, then ten, then fifty students.  The college steadily gained support from local tribes, widespread churches, and distant philanthropists. Our first students were not even considered US citizens.  In fact, our first student families arrived here after forced removal from their generational homes back east – in places such as Georgia, Florida, & Alabama – a short generation before.
