Nursing

Bacone College is proud to offer three programs of nursing:

--Traditional 2 year ADN program
--LPN to RN Transition program
--RN to BSN Blended online/ground program &  totally online RN to BSN program

The ADN program is approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN), 2915 N. Classen Blvd., Suite 524, Oklahoma City, OK 73106-5437; telephone 405.962.1800. Graduates of this state-approved program are eligible to apply to write the National Council Licensure Examination for registered nurses (NCLEX-RN)*. The program is also accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). The ADN curriculum consists of both general education and nursing courses, and can be completed in two years. Nursing courses consist of classroom work and supervised clinical experiences in a variety of settings located in Muskogee, Tahlequah, Tulsa, and surrounding areas. Students are required to take nationally normed tests throughout the curriculum and score in a designated proficiency range. Effective the 2005-2006 academic year, students are required to take a comprehensive NCLEX-RN preparation exam and score in a designated proficiency range prior to graduation.

The BSN program is a degree completion program for RNs. The program is accredited by the NLNAC, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006, telephone 212.363.5555, ext. 153. The BSN curriculum also consists of both general education and nursing courses. The completion program may be completed in an online-blended or online format. The online-blended nursing courses are delivered in an accelerated format, with classes meeting three times on campus during each eight week course. Students may have additional student meeting times on an arranged basis. Clinical experiences, if required, are individually arranged. The BSN degree completion program can be completed in 9-18 months.

Radiography

Radiography

The Radiography program is an exciting and dynamic field of medical imaging. Radiographers use radiation generating machines and associated equipment to produce images of internal body structure/organs. These images contain vital information needed by the physician for proper patient diagnosis.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Diagnostic Medical Sonography

The Medical Sonography program is an allied health profession that utilizes computerized medical equipments to generate high frequency sound waves (ultrasound) for diagnostic medical imaging. The Sonographer uses an instrument called a transducer to generate and transmit an incident ultrasound beam to body organs under study. The reflected ultrasound wave (echo) is intercepted by the transducer and converted back into electrical/analog signal. This signal is then digitized and fed to the system computer, which reconstructs and generates images needed for diagnosis.

Medical Imaging

Medical Imaging

Our baccalaureate degree in Medical Imaging is a non-clinical-based, degree-completion program, designed for credentialed, practicing, medical imaging professionals. The program combines on-line with limited traditional classroom delivery methods. This combination offers the flexibility needed by practicing professionals to expand their educational horizon.
