International Students

Welcome to Bacone College and to the United States of America! We trust that your time here will be profitable and enjoyable. We look forward to having you as a student. The following steps are important for students who have Permanent Residency and Citizenship outside of the United States. An Admissions Counselor or Athletic Coach will be available to assist you with these procedures.

1. A completed Application for Admissions.

2. An official copy of all Secondary and College and University work taken overseas. If the documents are not recorded in English, we will need an official copy translated into English.

3. An official copy of the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores for International Students who are from nations where English is not the official language or common language.

The recommended TOEFL score is 500. If the TOEFL scores are under 500, a 12-week completion of study course at an approved English Language Center is recommended. The Language Arts Division of Bacone College will also provide you assistance with English as a Second Language tutoring. Students with a successful completion of a Level 109 at any ELS Center is eligible to receive three transfer credit hours in Advanced Grammar. The Admissions Department at Bacone College will provide you with information regarding TOEFL test sites in your county or a nearby nation if needed.

4. A letter of Formal Acceptance will be issued to the student from the Department of Admissions following the receiving of the above documents.

5. Immigration. The I-20 A-B form will be issued by Bacone College to the student overseas.

The I-20 A-B form should be processed in the American Embassy or American Consulate nearest you. The I-20 A-B form is necessary to secure your Student Visa into the United States. A current Passport issued from your country is necessary to enter the United States. The processed student Visa (I-20 A-B) issued from the American Embassy or American Consulate should accompany your Passport.

6. Health Records and Health Insurance. It will be helpful if a student can provide copies of their Medical History and Proof of Medical Insurance from their home country. Medical Insurance is also available through the Department of Student Services at Bacone College for very reasonable rates. International Athletes are covered during the Sports season for sports related injuries.

7. Customs: The American Embassy or Consulate nearest you will be able to provide you with the current regulations regarding Customs issues related to bringing your personal goods and effects into the United States. The airlines you are traveling on will be able to provide you with the baggage regulations for International travel.

8. Transportation. Flights to Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma should be scheduled into the Tulsa, Oklahoma International Airport. The Tulsa Airport is about an hour away from Muskogee. The only public transportation available from the airport to Muskogee is by taxi cab. The cost of a taxi from the Tulsa International Airport is very expensive and so it will be important to deal with the Admissions Department or Athletic Coach for assistance regarding transportation to Muskogee.

It is our pleasure to assist you with your Admissions procedures and entry into the United States of America.

Welcome to Bacone College.
