Office of Native Concerns

 

The office of the Director of Native American Concerns is located in Walter Starr Hall. The Director of Native American Concerns acts a liaison between Native American employees, students, the President and the Board of Trustees. The Director of Native Concerns may hear issues such as:

Native American working conditions
disciplinary actions
employee and applicant appeals
conflict resolutions.

The process for bringing an issue to the attention of the Director of Native Concerns is as follows:

  • Contact the Director of Native Concerns via e-mail or at Walter Starr.
  • The Director will facilitate a personal meeting to hear the concern and will provide a written outline to the complainant to verify that the concern has been appropriately heard and the complaint clarified.
  • The Director will then e-mail the complaint/issue to the President of the College and to those Board of Trustees members appointed to hear concerns.
  • The President will investigate or cause to have investigated the issue brought forward and will provide a written response within one week’s time to parties involved.

The Director of Native Concerns is not an investigative or decision- making party. The Director hears, clarifies and disseminates the issue to the appropriate parties identified above.
