Personal Computers At Bacone
Student success at Bacone College requires access to a personal
computer and the ability to use commonly accessible office software.
Bacone College maintains a number of cybercafes and computer laboratories
which are accessible to all students. However, many students find
that the convenience of having their own computer provides them
a better opportunity for success. To that end, Bacone College
provides guidelines to assure that student computers are sufficient
to meet the needs of most courses.
Why Do I Need a Computer?
Bacone College is comitted to preparing students for
their future. Whether a student ends up working in an office,
a laboratory, a health care facility, a classroom or a pulpit,
they will find a computer there for their use. Students will use
their computer to write papers, do research, prepare presentations
and analyze data. The college has invested in significant online
databases to support student research. Many of the texts used
in class have accompanying disks or websites that support the
learning environment. Simply stated, the personal computer has
become as necessary to the 21st century college student as a notebook
or backpack.
